farmers market in paradise:

I think every post from now on should start out with a beautiful view.

So here, Pololu

Check the rainbow on the left side.

Here is Maya with the party bowl at the Awa bar

Fun fact of the day, in Hawai'i, when a "w" is in the middle of the word it makes a "v" noise.

So Awa is pronounced "avva"and in English is called kava.

This also means that Hawai'i is pronounced "Havvai'i."

What is kava you ask?  It is a root that can be made into a drink. It is a medicine that relaxes the muscles. People told me it will take time to get used to the taste, it has a interesting earthy taste and a little bit of a grainy texture. Everyone dances, around with their coconuts of kava, to the banjo music.

Here is our stand at the farmers market in Hawi "havvi" town. We sold lychee, baby banana trees,
mac-nuts, papayas and taro.

I had a maki roll. It had tuna, celery, mushrooms, egg, and a bunch of other things.
Pretty much it was delicious.

The kids totally digging the spring rolls.

And finally uncle nick helping the kids look like cool cats on the back of the Honda.

Today was totally rad. Most of the people here are Cali boys and I am picking up some of the lingo. Along with the Hawaiian slang I'm loosing my city girl swag.

Stick with me! Tomorrow is a beach day in beautiful Kona, pictures to come.
